msimn illegal operation in msoe.dll

By Casemaker ·
Hi,
My client had never used outlook express she used aol only. After Verizon DSL installation. I also believe that verizon installs ie6 and oe6. I was able to use outlook express to send a test mail. When she went to use oe after sh clicked on the shortcut she got this message. MSIMN this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. The module the error referances is msoe.dll.
I have checked the *.dbx files and they are not read only. I have run repair on internet explorer with no luck. I have uninstalled winsock and winsock 2 and removed tcp/ip and reinstalled tcp/ip. I want to uninstall and reinstall explorer 6 with outlook express6. I can not find a way to do this. any fixes for the error message or the uninstall and reinstall of ie6 and oe6. I have been around the kb and did not find a fix.
thanks
