MSLicensing key

By ISpaapen ·
Hi all,

We have this huge problem.
Some (not all) of our w2k pc's connect to a Citrix Metaframe XP machine. Most of the time the connection is established, but login screen appears. To solve this we use regedt32 and browse to the MSLicensing key. We set security to full access for all users and the problem is solved. But when the pc reboots the key is reset to read-only and the user can't connect anymore. We have to do this for several users every day and can't find a solution that fixes it.

Is there a solution?

Thnx in advance.

Not really sure why it's happening, but could be registry is reverting back to a previous saved copy. I would start by seeing if you can make the current changed registry also the back-up so if win is reverting it back it will revert it back to identical correct one.

I need the error message in the eventviewer of the w2k pc's and on the citrix metaframe server.
have you check the licencensing on both metaframe and the w2k terminalserver if you comply with them ?

for now I have found this:!default.jspa?categoryID=118&entryID=1821&fromSearchPage=true

This is what they write.

1. Run Regedt32 and give full control to the above MSLicensing key for domain users.

2. From the policy, enable the permissions for domain users to the MSLicensing key in the registry.

But what do they mean with te second options, or in other words, where to find that.
