MSSQL Insert Fails on Big Database

By babsjid ·
Hi,
Can anyone assist and tell me why my database (MS SQL Server 2000) fails to accept data whenever the database size grows to something like 15GB. I did not specify any maximum data size for this database an i still have almost 60GB on my hard disk... I have two three of such database that behaves almost the same. I.E they stop accepting data when they grow to 15Gb or 21GB.
Any help will be appreaciated.

I have also facing the same problem, but temporarily corrected by adding another data file.

Still i don't know why that stop accepting data.

Awaiting for a reason....

We've had this come up a few times and one of our guys figured out that doing a manual update would get the database to accept data again.

After the last time this happened, a few months ago, I found information suggesting having Auto Shrink turned on (right-click database, select Properties then the Options tab) was the culprit. I removed that option about 3 months ago and have not had the problem come up yet. I don't know if that's the answer but so far, so good...
