I have a user with a handspring that wants to be able to hotsync with Palm desktop 4.0.1 with his desktop and on the desktop of 2 other secretaries. Other than buying 3 hotsynch cradles, is there a way 2 of the desktops can synch over a shared folder on the win2k network? What is the file type saved on the desktop when one hotsyncs? I could only find file types when one archives. Two of the 3 desktops are runnin win2k sp3, and the other is xppro sp1. All are on same domain. Thanks.

This is possible, the easiest way to do this, is to install palm desktop onto all of the machines (remember that the install is USER specific) Then on the primary machine enter the palm desktop application and goto Tools>Options. Here you will be able to change the data directory for the main applications. Point this at your network share. Then Sync. This will create the correct folder structure on the share. Next goto each of the other machines and configure to point to the same share. Check that the data is available then syncing should then use this data. Given this, any data entered should be available on save to all the other desktops. If you need a physical sync from the other desktop machines, you will still need some form of cable or cradle. Though you could try a portsmith network cradle.
