    Multiple Canonical Tags

    by seocontentwriter261 ·

While working on SEO for a project, I ran into an issue where multiple canonical tags were being generated across dynamic pages. Has anyone here faced something similar and found an efficient way to fix it without overhauling template logic?

I’m currently optimizing a site, and proper canonical tagging is crucial to prevent duplicate content, especially with regional variations. Would appreciate any tips or best practices!

you should go with centralizing the canonical logic,

      Also few tips.

      – Only allow one canonical tag per page, generated right before final output

      – Always remove trailing slashes, URL parameters and enforce lowercase URLs to avoid slight variations causing duplicate canonicals.

      – consider using hreflang tags alongside canonicals
