Multiple drive mapping

By mmbc_voltron ·
I am having problems with a NT Workstation. Its seem to be mapping multiple drive letters for the same folder

Ex: you boot up the computer, Login, and your mapped drives are all set.
you work for awhile and you notice that you have an E F G mapped to the same folder as you Z drive

i have deleted find fast
and i have at least 3 doc that could be the culprit

please let me know of any info you might have on multiple drive mapping

Does this question raelly have no answers? I just came across it by accident.

If you still have the problem, check to see if Fast Find is running on that workstation. If so, disable it and see if it helps.

If you are logging in to a network, it is possible that the login script that runs when you login is mapping these drives for you. One way check is to open 'windows explorer', right-click on the mapped drive letter and click disconnect. Reboot andwatch the login script, you might see it depending on how fast the script scrolls by. Once boot up is finished, check 'windows explorer' again and see if the drive(s) you disconnected are mapped again.

cisconnect from these drives and see if they come back the next time you log on, if so, have the admin check your login script

1.- You might have an script that is mapping many drives to the same path. Modify your scrpit at your DC.
2.- Go to explorer, select Map Network drive, and delete those bad mappings
