My Dell GX280 will not turn on, it has tones when you first push the power

last night, we completed all the needed windows updates (seemed to go well) this morning when we went into the room, the monitor was off and the PC fan was running LOAD and FAST. pushed the power button to turn it off, when you try and turn it on , it only makes six tones and then the fan starts to speed up, the monitor never turns on……….HELP!!!!

You have a hardware problem.
you can check this site for possible hardware error: http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

Depending on the tones you described, you have a keyboard problem, or the controller in the MB.
Hopefully its just a keyboard.

seems to be one tone, pause, then three tones, pause, then two tones….
I went to the site you recomended, but didn’t seem to find that sequence of tones????

I found the beep code you’re talking about.
