My Discussions returns & other stuff

By sMoRTy71 ·
OK, the My Discussions link is back.

We've also added acurate counts and pagination to the results pages you get when clicking on a member interest or technology.

Here is a link to a page that we will be a component of our upcoming "People" page. It shows all of the Interests and Technologies members have added to their profiles. You can add items to your own profile in bulk or simply check out which members have which interests.

Thanks, and,,,

Thank you very much for returning the My Discussions link.

Looking at the sample "People" page, I have a couple of questions.

Is there a reason for the seemingly random order of the items on the list?

Did I miss it, or is bicycling not on the list?

Keep up the good work.

The list is too small

by house In reply to My Discussions returns & ...

Wow... that is one huge list of interests.

Thanks for the 'my discussions' link, although I seem to be the only one who could navigate without.

I would prefer that the My Discussions link opened of within the tabs... but I also noticed that both urls are identical... so I guess that's too much to ask.

Mice wearing out with all the clicking.

But I'll admit it is much easier now that the My Discussions is back as they are far easier to find. Although that list is more than a bit long how many days are we allowed to fill it in? :)

Private Messages

by TheChas In reply to My Discussions returns & ...

I just encountered a new issue.

Used to be when someone sent you a peer mail, the mail included the peers email address so you could replay to them if you so desired.

Now, the address in the peer mail is truncated.

This works "IF" you know who the peer is, or have a link to their profile.

However, if they have private messages turned off, you cannot reply to them.

Is there something that can be done to allow responses to private messages?

Even add a link to their profile in the email.

Or, add them to the my contacts list with a confirm or deny option.

I think...

The disappearance of the email address is one of the pending issues that has been recognized.

There has also been mention of including the url for the member's profile within the peer mail option as well. What are your thoughts on that one?

Open to any solution

by TheChas In reply to I think...

That sounds like it would work.

All I am looking for is a way to respond to peers who contact me.

Even the profile doesn't work in many cases though

by Oz_Media In reply to Open to any solution

I have requested for people to send me their profile link so I can reply, they did and then there is no ACTIVE contact link in the profile!

The private messaging fixes are live now

by sMoRTy71 In reply to Even the profile doesn't ...

We deployed the fix to the private messaging functionality earlier today.
