Have yo checked to see if the wireless card is installed and functioning correctly?
Windows 7: Start button -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> under Devices and Printers click Device Manager *New window should open -> scroll down until you see Network Adapters-> click network adapters to view the sub list.

Windows 8: Move mouse to top right-> Click on the search charm ->type Control Panel -> Click on the control panel link-> Hardware and Sound -> under Devices and Printers click Device Manager *New window should open -> scroll down until you see Network Adapters-> click network adapters to view the sub list.

If you any items under the network adapter tab that have a yellow, red or grey symbols respond and let us know. Also do you know your laptop brand and model?
