Naming Active Directory

Hi all
i am going to create my new domain very soon in a brand new forest for my company.
I have done some reading up on domain names but i cannot decide if i shoudl use my FQDN as in the future we "may" set up the site.
if were to use company.local for example as many people do will this cause problems when i impliment exchange???

If you do not configure the DNS properly, you will indeed have issues with AD if you use an externally registered name.

Hhe .local ad naming convention is designed to prevent internal AD resources from being exposed to external threats.

I would recommend you peruse Mr. Petri's article at http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_install_active_directory_on_windows_2003.htm on the prep work you will need to do.

If at all in doubt, hire someone that has designed AD before you learn the expensive way and have to set up AD and Exchange more than once...
