NAV 7.6 won’t send email alerts

We are running NAV 7.6 corp. I’d like to configure it to send email alerts. I set it to send the email in the AMS but when you test it, it doesn’t go. No errors reported. We’re running Exchange 5.5 on another box, everything is NT 4.0. Is there some type of connector that needs to be installed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
