Need opinions

By Cactus Pete ·
So, was this supposed to be funny and I'm just missing it? Or is it just funny, because it wasn't meant to be?

One of your fellow TechRepublic members has sent you a private message:

Subject: Violent image
I am curious, no, disturbed, by the violence in your animation. Why did you feel this was the way you wanted to present yourself to the world? Even if you meant it as a joke, humor comes from somewhere. Is this really how you want people to see you?

Not that I am saying "don't do it". I am just sharing that I did not care for it. And it did not impress me with an image of professionalism, empathy, maturity, mental balance, or an ability to objectively solve and kind of user-related issue.

Advice from a former technology recruiter - don't include this with your resume, or where any prospective employers may see it.

I recommend to you a great movie: Office Space.

Most techies know about it, and you might be more in tune with them when you've seen it.

OK, sheesh, fine

Since some people seem capable of taking great offense to my avatar I'll put it to a vote (albeit a weighted vote):

Should I change the avatar or leave it as it is?

The vote

If it makes you laugh, go with it.

This is NOT on your resume, and you are not getting graded based on your avitar.

That little number next to your name says more about you as a member than your avitar ever will.

Be yourself. Keep it. Don't hide because someone else doesn't have a sence of humor.

This isn't the same guy that peered you about your limp wrist style of hitting is it?

Ain't that ironic?

And no, it isn't...

But I've come up with an alternative, just in case. I'm willing to change - I'm not so stubborn (honest) that I can't "fit in" a little if necessary.

I realize that some people are going dislike anything - I just don't want to be too far on the edge of that bell curve.

And you know what else?

It's not really a limp wrist punch.. It's a lead-with-the-elbow punch...

I like it. It's funny. I think that perhaps a stick needs to be removed from someone's oriface.
