Need S.M.A.R.T reports of HDDs connected through a mirror RAID controller

by veena.shridhar . Updated 19 years, 11 months ago

I need to get the S.M.A.R.T. counter values to analyse the good/bad status of hard disks.

My system specifications are as follows –

1. It has two hard drives in a mirror RAID configuration working on linux kernal 2.6.17.8
2. The RAID controller is “Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) RAID card” (LSISAS1068) supporting 8 HDDs
3. The driver which runs on the RAID controller is Fusion MPT driver of LSI Logic Corporation

Questions :
———–

1. Is there any tool using which I can get the S.M.A.R.T values of both the disks seperately ?
2. To get the values, can the drives be accessed individually or should they be accessed through the controller ?
3. Can I use smartmontools for this purpose ?

Please let me know these details and links to locations where I can get more information on these lines.
Thank you in advance for all the guidance.

Regards
