Needing a sound driver

By sprum ·
Hello, everybody out there. I need help of where I can go and download a driver for the OPTI 82c93111965011cw. This is for a sound card and I am looking for the Windows2000 version. So, if you know of where I go and get it, please let me know right away. Thanks for you help.

Here is what they say>
Audio Card Drivers

OPTi sold its audio chipset business in 1997. Please keep in mind that even prior to 1997, OPTi never made sound cards. We previously sold chips for these cards to other companies, who are responsible for providing and updating drivers. OPTi does not offer any audio drivers. If you need technical support or drivers, you will need to contact the company that made your sound card.

This means We need to know the maker of the sound card, and check their web site for updated drivers.

Here is the link to the fcc site that can help you find out who made it. You need to look on the card and find the fcc id # and plug it into this website

Sam,
Try www.driverguide.com or www.opti.com/html/drivers.html
Hopefully one of these 2 sites will help you out.

Here's a great resource

by TimMitchell In reply to Needing a sound driver

For old or hard-to-find drivers, go to www.driverguide.com. When prompted for login, use 'drivers' for user ID and 'all' for password. I've found dozens of old, unsupported drivers there, some of which have saved my backside in a pinch.

You should try www.drivershq.com and www.windrivers.com. These two are the ones I use allthe time and they haven't let me down. Like was noted in earlier discussion you need to check the fcc site to get the right card manufacturer
