When you look at the mail headers

by Dumphrey In reply to Net Spam Filters ?

do they actually trace back to a real server? (MX record lookup etc, public dns registration etc.) is the bounce coming to you directly or to a group of names in the domain (see headers again). it sounds to me like either a spammer used your domain to send some spam, or this is reverse spam, used to harvest good addresses. Another option is to actually look at the attachment (I would be very caution here of course). Either way it sounds like spam, based mostly on the fact that you never sent mail to the address.
