Netapp, Equallogic or Lefthand.

By phil2627 ·
We are in a school district with approximately $30,000 so spend on a SAN. We currently have 2 high schools with a 3rd coming soon. We are in the process of centralizing our data and applictions. We are looking at Netapps FAS2020, Lefthand's 'Starter' 9TB SAN and Equallogic's PS5000e with 9TB of storage. We are running Virtual Iron for or VM, which Lefthand does not support at this time and were told they would support Windows 2008 VM first, before Virtual Iron. The drives in all solutions would be SATA. We are hoping for some feedback as we are newbies into SAN technology. Replication would be an option in the future, but cannot afford it right now. Thanks.

Hello, I work at a small private university, and we are looking at a similar solution. I would be greatly interested in your findings, and your thoughts now on which option you went with.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Phil,
I think there are many people out there that would like to know what you chose and why. We're going through the same decision process and looking for real world info. Another big question would be... are you happy with your decision now?
Thank you Phil!

Has anyone posting on this thread made a decision? If so, what and why.
