We are in a school district with approximately $30,000 so spend on a SAN. We currently have 2 high schools with a 3rd coming soon. We are in the process of centralizing our data and applictions. We are looking at Netapps FAS2020, Lefthand’s ‘Starter’ 9TB SAN and Equallogic’s PS5000e with 9TB of storage. We are running Virtual Iron for or VM, which Lefthand does not support at this time and were told they would support Windows 2008 VM first, before Virtual Iron. The drives in all solutions would be SATA. We are hoping for some feedback as we are newbies into SAN technology. Replication would be an option in the future, but cannot afford it right now.
