Have you tried Netscape 4.8?
This is the latest release of Netscape 4.X

I recommend against upgrading directly to Netscape 7.X, as you cannot import 4.X e-mails into 6.X or 7.X

If you cannot get even 4.8 to function, I suggest that you switchto Mozilla. www.mozilla.org

Mozilla will give you many of the features that you like in Netscape without Netscapes bloat and adds.

If you are using Windows 2000, try renaming your W2K profile, rebooting, and logging back in. Windows will think you're a new user, but if it works, you can transfer your user files from the renamed folder. I know it sounds odd, but it has worked for me in the past.
