Network hiccup

By pcu ·
I have taken over a small network of a NT server and 4 Win98 machines in our office. I have just installed Sybergen's Sygate onto the Server for internet access for all Win98 machines. Each machine can see each other on the network and all can browse the internet, but we have lost the network connection with SQL server on our NT box and with our POS system. IS this a bug with SQL server? or does anybody have an idea for me to try?

Hi!

You're not saying which SQL server you are running ?

Can you connect to the SQL server from the machine which the SQL is running on ?

If not you got problems right there.

If you can connect from local machine, make sure the network routes are setup properly so that the SQL isn't trying to send the answer onto the wrong NIC or subnet.

Best way to do this kind of setup if you haven't allready done it is to use two NICs on the NT server one for your internal network and one for the internet.
