Network inventory

By nickh ·
I've been asked to create a comprehensive network inventory. My goal to include all workstations, servers, and printers on the network, as well as specific software inventories for each workstation (to try and verify licensing compliance). I've used Microsoft SMS Server in the past, but I don't really have a budget to do this. I'm interested in finding out what others have done in similar situations.

EZAUDIT

by jereg In reply to Links

I concur with thechas, except that out of all those pregrams, I selected EZaudit. It does most of what I wanted (inventory of hardware and software) and the cost is only $79.00 per site, unlimited pc's! My boss had no problem with that at all. It doesn't have much you can customize. It would have been nice to add a few fields, but other than that, highly recommended.
