Network Neighborhood

By dburress1 ·
I changed the name of a pc on my home network and now the new name and the old name show up in network neighborhood. How do I get rid of the old name? I am running Win98SE.

Try hitting refresh from the view button at top of page. You also may reboot pc and when they come back the browser software should relook at the network and the old name should be gone. Hope one works for you.

Also, if Answer1 didn't work, you may want to try removing the network protocols and/or adapter and re-adding them.

Answer 1 helped, so I did not have to remove and re-add. Thanks, anyway.
