Hi,
I recently have big trouble with the Microsoft Outlook 2000 and would welcome any help from anyone. The trouble that I have is every time I start the outlook client from my machine, I received the following message:
?Network problems are preventing connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer. Contact your system administrator if this condition persists.?
To try fixing the problem, I tried removed and reinstalled Outlook 2000 many times. I tried removed and recreated my network ID many times. I tried removing and recreating my mailbox with Microsoft Exchange Server many times. I even tried to remove the partition and reinstalled Windows XP and MS Office from nil serval times. None of these solve my problem. In fact, I got the full access to my network through my computer and I have no trouble to use Outlook with the Exchange Server in the past.
I went to the Microsoft website and search through the Knowledge Base and found a situation (Q279742) very similar to mime. I was so happy to expect that would solve my problem. I was very disappointed at the end when the solution turned out that it was not useful at all.
Up to now, I am still not sure what caused the problem. All other users on the same network seem no trouble at all. And, there is no problem to collect mails from the pop server of the same network. However, I do have problem to send email through the smtp gateway by using Outlook. But if I use other email client, both pop and smtp are working fine.
FYI, down below are the hardware and software version that I am using:
Client Machine: Toshiba Tecra 9000
Operation System: Windows XP Professional
Outlook Client: Outlook 2000
Server OS: Windows NT 4.0 Server
Mail Server: Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
Any advice and contribution are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
