Network Security

By danlenzi ·
I’m a salesman for an IT network support company, (MSP). We do not want to know any of the network passwords for our users. We ensure that the users have them but we don’t want them. When we “remote in” to trouble shoot, after asking permission, we have the user log us in so we don’t get the PW, that’s how we like it. I am calling on a company that has another IT Network support company and we want to do a network assessment so we can quote remote backups. The user does not have the passwords for his own network. He has to call his support company to get them and then the company gets all nervous, (as they should), that he might be looking at alternate support companies, (as I told him that he should be!). I smell a rat. Who’s doing it correctly, us or the other company?
