New install of Win2K

By BKornek ·
I am trying to install Win2K over my existing Win98 OS. After completing the install I was surprised to find Win98 still there!! Do I need to perform a FDISK and the Fornat the hard drive first??
Thanks!!

Microsoft article Q250297, "How to Prepare to Upgrade Windows 95 or Windows 98 to Windows 2000" may be helpful to you.

if you have a backup of all of your important data. rererun the win2k install and delete all partitions and recreat them. this will remove all of them and give you a clean install. this of course is the best option ( in my option ) rather then upgrade.

Hi

U can upgrade win95 or 98 to win2k professional only not to win2k server. Start win95 or 98, run winnt32.exe from i386 directory of win2k pro cd.
It will ask weather u want to upgrade existing os or perform clean install. Select upgrade.

Hope this will solve ur problem
