New laptop drops my Wireless signal

by jakepp . Updated 17 years, 2 months ago

Hi,

I have a wireless router DGL-4300. It supports 802.11g/b and it has never given me any problems until now.
I recently purchased a new laptop with an Intel? WiFi Link 5100 (802.11a/b/g/Draft-N). I can connect to my AP but it drops my connection for no reason. I have ran both my old and new laptop but only the new laptop gets disconnected from the network from time to time.

Has anyone experience something similar with your equipment?

Thank you.

edit:
I have the latest firmware for the wireless router, v8 but now D-link removed the v8 and left only v7. Maybe I should go back to v7 and see if it helps.

I will also try using a Linksys WAP54G and see if its the router or the Intel card.
