New mail doesn't appear

By aljen ·
I have two users that the inbox shows new mail in the folders list(number in (2)) but they don't show up in the inbox itself. We have web access to the server and they show up there but not in outlook on the desktop. I have removed all filtering and check to make sure the view setting was set to messages and not last seven days etc. We are using Outlook 2000 on XP machines.

be sure you have IE updated to 6 sp1 and try again.

Thanks for the idea but that isn't the answer. We are using exchange so we setup several machines and logged into the account and all are doing it. I double checked and all have IE6 SP1

The default mail inbox may have been changed to a PST file. Check this setting in the service properties, have had similar problem and that was the fix.

Thank you for trying but we have the email setup as check additional mail under the "open these additional mailboxes" in the advanced tab of exchange properties. This puts the mailbox in the folders list but does not create a .pst. That was a good try though.
