I've got a website in the making, it will be used to distribute the music i produce and it will have an online community "forum, probably powered by phpb"... anyway

I get about 20,000 hits/day on average, so I was thinking dual or quad Xeons, "need something in my price range $10,000. 2-4gb of ram, and have yet to decide on the hard drives, I was looking at the Sun Fire v65x, but someone said it was kinda over kill for what i would be using it for, does anyone havea suggestion for hardware "under 10 grand"

Well.. a Dell or Compaq running Linux fits the bill

You should be able to score a really nice server for that price with at least Dual Xeons (3.0GHz or better these days) and honestly you'll be wanting more RAM than that. Both companies have online configuration tools that should give you a ball pack costing based on config. Plus going that route (name brand) lets you take advantage of the "Grey" or "After" market parts and so forth.
