no sound?

By teasets ·
All of the sound that I want to play while using the internet doesn't work. For example all of the music on myspace, as well as all of he sound on youtube's videos.

The thing is that the sound DOES works when I listen to MP3s or watch movies through my media players (Windows Media, Real Player, iTunes, DivX), but just not anything that is on the internet.

I'm going crazy, it's been like this for about a month.

This is because your registry has been damaged or a value overwritten.

Run Regedit, and goto the appropraite key below, right click and create anew string value called wavemapper once done double click or edit it and give it the value msacm32.drv

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

Im guessing your volume control didnt appear in your systray either right? also you can play sounds from the Sound and Devices panel (like the windows startup sound!) anyway this will fix it, if not it wont do any harm.
