No Sound From CD Rom Drive

By car1626 ·
I have two CD Rom Drives and I am unable to hear any sound from either one of them when using a Headset. I have checked the audio cables from the CR ROM drives back to the sound card, both are connected properly. I have ensured that the volume levelon the drives are turned up, I have checked the mixer settings in the control panel and nothing is muted, etc. I can here sound from the speakers with no problems. Any assistance or recommendations are appreciated.

CD ROM "Per se"

If you are talking CDROM only, check the volume of the drive, if it is still no sound on your headset...grab your warranty card and ask the manufacturer of it because there is a problem on the internal circuitry to the headset slot.

Thanks. i contacted the company that made the CD ROM drive, they stated that Microsoft removed that feature from the Windows ME software. I do not believe that is true. Many people like to listen to music with head sets as well as speakers.

But are u sure the headsets are plugged into the correct socket on you soundcard, as I know it can be confusing. If you plug the headset into the speaker socket, you should get some noise, if not, your headset is kaputt.

Yes, I have checked. The headset is plugged into the CD ROM Drive. There is a small 1/8 inch connection on the CD Rom Drive that displays a picture of a set of Headphones, or headset.
