no sound with DVD movie

by bigfootmm . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

Since I upgraded Win98 to XP, I have not gotten sound from DVD movies. I get sound from cds and from internet radio. I upgraded the SoundBlaster files to XP versions. I upgraded my second monitor’s video card to one that is compatible with XP (ATI Xpert PCI 128) and it is working properly. I see that in Device Manager there are two lisings for CineMaster 3.0. Does this decoder need upgrading as well? The 4.0 version is $50 and I’d rather not spend the money!

Also, since I installed this ATI 128 card, I get “not enough memory” messages upon start up. I have 384MB of Rambus RAM and the card has 128MB. The old monitor was a 15″ digital. I clear the message and everything works fine as far as I can tell, but that message comes up every timeI boot up. Device Manager does not indicate a problem with the card.

Thanks,
Michael
