"No transport provider" Sending email

By gregross ·
I have about 200 users that use a sendmail server for external email pop3 & smtp at two separate sites and supporting 8 different domains. Of those users there are 3-4 who currently can't send out email but can receive it. These users are running outlook 2000 and 2002 respectively. The kicker of it all is that when we install an above board NIC they are able to send out mail but once we go back to the old NIC they can't. All the settings on the NIC are identical coming from DHCP. The machines work fine on the network with their old nics except for sending out mail. We have tried all the troubleshooting techniques for the no transport provider bounce back and it doesn't make any sense in regard to installing a new NIC since one of the pc's is brand new and they all can do everything else on the network leading us to believe it really isn't a hardware problem. We are running sendmail for NT on the server. This problem keeps popping up and is very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to get the latest NIC driver for your OS? If so, maybe these articles can shed some light.
