norton 2002 systemworks

I tried to load norton system works 2002. all went well execept it started to install norton antivirus then locked up. when I rebooted I could get norton to work ok except the antivirus. I tried to reinstall it and would not allow me . got message must remove norton antivirus first. well problem is i tried everything. i even uninstalled system works compltely and tried to reinstall it. i still got message must first remove norton antivirus.
there was some files for norton antivirs on system..i finally was able to delete the norton antivirus folder. but still cannot load norton antivirus. pleas help
