I am running a pentium 300mhz machine with 128 megs of RAM, lots of HD space available, NT Workstation 4.0 with SP5 installed.
I have set up several services on the machine to connect via an ODBC driver to an HP3000 system for queries.
I run a perl script that constantly pings the port to make sure it’s listening. If it is not, then the script stops the service and restarts it.
If the system is down for hours, this will steadily degrade the system so that I get the title error.
The only way to fix it is to reboot. I end up doing this every day.
What should I be monitoring so I can track this problem and hopefully resolve it?
The things listed in Task Manager appear to be within normal parameters.
