Not Recognised Seagate Desktop HDD 2TB Model SRD00F2

    Questions:
If the issue is the PCB does my model really require transplanting the 8 pin ROM chip?

    Background:
Dead hard drive which was working only the day before – I replaced worn power cord and then when also connected with SATA to USB 3.0 cord HD light up and repetitively clicked.

Professional data recovery attempts included attaching my HD into another clients internal HD drive enclosure and cloning to a new external HD and various other software assisted recovery efforts. My HD whirred normally (to me) while this was going on. Attempts to recover data failed.

I think that the issue may be hardware related and replacing the gateway makes sense to me.

    Any advice?

      Hi,

As you already tried replacing the power cord of the drive and the issue is still there. I suggest you try to run the CHKDSK command on the drive to know the exact issue with the drive. If that also doesn’t work then try reinstalling the drivers of the Seagate HDD.

However, if you wish to recover data from that faulty drive then you can try using Stellar Data Recovery Professional software which will help you recover your lost or deleted data from the drive.

      Cheers!!!
