Notification Macro

By Vluv ·
I have a document whose contents is based on an Excel spreadsheet being kept by another department in my company. I am able to access the spreadsheet via the intranet, but was wondering if there was someway I could get a popup window to appear on my desktop when the spreadsheet has been modified.

Linking the documents is not an option due to my data being in a different format then the way it is in the spreadsheet.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

When you open the document, it should make any updates required if the source has changed. I did something similar to this some time back, one problem was that after 3-4 months, the older document (1st month) showed data from the 4th month when reopened. lo
