Novell and W2K Offline Storage

By tech_know ·
I have W2K laptops running on a Novel1 5.1 network. I want to use the W2K offline folder feature to synchronize files on the Novell server to the laptop. I turned on synchronization on the laptop but the only files that are available to sync are the Offline Web Pages. The option to make files available offline does not appear on any of the menues (either right click or the file menu).

Doesn't this work in Novell?

Novell and W2K Offline Storage

This is, I believe, a function only available on Windows shares. I think part of it is set up with the share.

Novell's iFolder offers the functionality you're looking for. It comes with netware 6, and I'm pretty sure it's available for NW5.1.
There are several shareware offerings for folder sync.

According to Microsoft, this feature is only available with SMB servers and NOT with NCP servers. A workaround would be to create shares using GSNW on a W2K server to the needed Netware server folders, which will then allow you to use the offline folder option.

Good Luck!
