Novell Clients messaging utility

By win_user_Yuck ·
Does anyone know of a way to shut off Novell's messaging utility that is part of the client? Is this a server service that can be disabled? We have hidden the Red N in the toolbar and taken out the utility from the client level. It seems students have figured out how to access the messaging via network neighborhood. I'm hoping we can kill the messaging at the server and not have to visit 3000 machines! HA

In advanced menu settings

You can turn off the Enable Netware utilities .
This is global and will turn off everything they might want to break from the workstation.

Or you can just turn off the send message, but they can turn it back on again if they look hard enough.

Use a Login Script command

Insert the following line in the login script to disable messaging on each workstation when they login. (I'm assuming that you are mapping the Z: drive to sys/public.)

#Z:\Send /A=N
