Novell/NT4 Workstation

By Mair ·
Hi,

I'm using a novell 4 server and have an nt4 workstation which uses novell client across the network. Is there anyway over a novell server to share a folder on the nt workstation so another nt workstation can see the folder across the network. I can ping the station and it replies, but I can't connect to it unless I use pcanywhere...
I would like to see it in network neighborhood and/or go to start/run and connect via //workstation name/c$ ...
Please advise if you have ran into this.

Thanks,

The $ symbol on the sharename indicates that the share is hidden and will not be displayed in network browse lists, so in order to map a drive to the share you have to do it manually (using Map Network Drive from the tools menu in NT Explorer) alternatively you can create a new non-hidden share.

I tried what you suggested but that didn't work then I changed the workgroups on both stations and that worked. The workgroups have to be the same. I new that the share was hidden with C$ but you can still map to the hard drive with C$ across an nt network but not a novell.
