NT Admin Tools - Dameware vs. ?

By rdunn ·
I really want to pick up Dameware NT Utilities, but my manager would like to see a comparison between this and one or two other comparible products. We are operating on a mixed-mode server environment with about 30 remote sites ala WAN.

What other products exist that could even begin to compare to Dameware? I mean, if they exist, then I would really like to hear about them!

You might want to check out Hyena or Goverlan I currently use all both Hyena and Goverlan as well as Dameware. They all have overlapping functions but each has unique abilities. Goverlan allows for the dynamicaddition of network drives and printers to be add to uses on the fly and the ability to have run programs on the user machine on the fly. Hyena is closer to Dameware in functionality, but it has reporting, like share security, file level security group membership, etc..

Hope it helps.
