NT "connection error"

By gra ·
A client of ours is running Kronos Time Clock software.
The program is on here PC (work station).
The data is on the NT (4.0 SP6) server.

She keeps getting errors (posted below).
She clicks OK and can work.
Kronos says the problem is that they are losing
the connection to the network.

However, ALL other network software works
fine...even the Kronos (after clicking OK).

Errors (they keep changing):

(FetchTKCEmps) Error 3011: The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find
the object "emp". Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and
the path correctly.
OK

(FetchTKCEmps) Error 3021: No current record
OK

They above are NOT NTerrors, I know. But if anyone has any thoughts
that might help...thank you in advance.

NT "connection error"

by Phil Jackson In reply to NT "connection error"

Error 3021 is an Access Database message that basicaly says the object can't be found. This can either be a problem with the network or a problem with the database itself.

If the application runs over the network you need to check it goes throughmapped drives or through UNC path names. If it goes through a mapped drive, check that its pointing in the right place - same for the unc path, you have probably already tried reinstalling but if not backup the current config and try again.

If you are still tackling this problem, perhaps you should consider calling your local super-hero.
