The network has two NT Servers and a mixture of NT Workstation and (recently) XP Pro clients. There’s a considerable delay displaying files and folders on the NT fileserver from an XP client when compared to an NT client. As an example, users often wish to browse through a database on the fileserver which contains some folders with a high number of subfolders and files. Using an NT client, it will take a couple of seconds to display the contents of a large folder, whereas the same folder from an XP client can take minutes.
Is there anyway to speed up network file browsing in XP Pro? I would appreciate any advice, links or help on this matter.
