NT Workstation profile is gone

By dwaind ·
This is a long shot but, after a failed updgrade
from NT to W2K pro, Workstation was reinstalled over the existing OS. This was
done to retrieve files and burn them on cd.
Once that was done, a full format and clean
install was to take place. All the data was
present after the reinstall except for a couple
files the user had saved directly to his desktop.
The problem is, the desktop files are kept in
the users profile folder which was no longer
there. Is there anyway or anywhere those files
can be accessed or brought back from that previous
profile?

Thanks
Dwain

Unless they are in the Desktop folder under the All Users Profile, you are out of luck. If that was not backed up and you formatted and reinstalled, they are gone.
