NT4.0 & Exchange restore to new hardware

I want to upgrade my BDC. The BDC is nt4.0 SP6a, Exchnage 5.5. I wanted to know if I could “restore” from the old, over a clean NT 4 build on the new file server. I have got the disk drivers sussed already – I just can’t seem to get the SAM across.
