OCR Software that read’s survey results & populates fields in Excel or DB

by nlveenstra . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

The current project I am working on includes a process of scanning paper surveys (using OCR software) to populate either a database table or excel worksheet.

I want to be able to use some software that can recognize a ‘data map’ on the scanner surveys and then populate specific fields with the score indicated by the person who filled out the survey.

So far I have found a company that has created a program called FormIDEA.

I am doint this for a non-profit organization and wondering if anyone has any leads on other similar software that is either more functional or cheaper.

Thanks for any help.
