Odd font change on Win2K workstation

By Vcents ·
OK, this is odd. A Win2K Prof. system that has been dropped in my lap has an odd fonts showing in odd places. For example, the Run diaglog box has Tahoma as a font. Other diaglog boxes and even some menus have Tahoma as a font. I set appearance scheme to be Windows Classic, which I would assume would everything back to MS San Sarif. I've looked at everything possible, but I can't get the font to change. I know it's a probable reg hack, but I have no idea what key to change. And a reimageis out becuase this is a low priority. Any ideas?

Do it manually?

by hekr In reply to Odd font change on Win2K ...

It could be that the user, without knowing it has changed the fonts for "Windows Classic". Check by going through "Elements" in "Options for Screen"

Hope it helps?

Not sure what you mean by that...I checked the Windows Classic setup for such things as Message Box and they all show MS Sans Serif. Is that what you are referring to? I'm stumped on this one. The odd thing is this, it seems to be hit or miss with the font. Some screens look fine, others have the Tahoma font. Technet doesn't hit on anything, I've searched under system font change and variations of that, but nothing of any worth comes back. I even downloaded TweakUI hoping that I might find something, but alas, I found nothing.

Any ideas?? Anyone??
