OE6 Outlook Express folders all empty

I got a new PC with XP. I copied my old OE6 folders to a temp folder on the new PC then I ran OE6 and I imported the folders – worked fine.
When I clicked on the ‘local folders’ I see all my folders and the number of messages in each one. Perfect.
Now, when I click on a folder I see zero messages in the folder. The dbx file that was 662k a second before is now 59k! As I click on each folder, it is emptied.

I have tried every combo of importing and looked thru the MS KB and scoured the net for ideas.

I am using another program for mail but I would to figure this one out.

Anyone have any ideas?
