      Do you care?

In reply to Off brand LCD or are they

I am not familiar with this brand but…

Do you need it personally or for business?

      Let’s assume it’s for business.

Do you need the monitor now or can you afford to wait a while? After all prices are dropping, so we may not have seen the bottom…

Perhaps these screens are from overproduction of a well-known brand so they can be sold cheaply or perhaps they are b-choice with perhaps a few defect pixels – can you accept this defect?

Further, consider that a saving of 20% will allow you to either save 20% on your budget, which you will be able to use on other investment or you are able to buy 5 for the price of 4, i.e. if you need four you get 5 so you will always have a spare to deploy as you deem suitable…

Perhaps this helps to make up your mind?

Thanks for your input that helps.

They are for business use but not for graphics. I was just worried about them lasting only a year or so then having to replace them again. When I could have spent an extra 80.00 to 100.00 more on viewsonic or dell and they last for 2 years??????

I don’t know how things are where you come from but in the UK at the moment a number of manufacturers (Philips and Samsung spring to mind) offer 3 year warranties on their TFT screens. Working for a service centre I have serious doubts about the longevity of LCD screens in general with around 75% of all screen failures being due to failure of the backlight and the remainder due to failure of COG (Chip on glass) or separation of driver tabs from ITOs.
