Office 2000 pro on NT4.0 sp6a

by BeerMonster In reply to Office 2000 pro on NT4.0 ...

Hi,
I had a quick look in technet about this, and the only suggestion I could find - IF you are ABSOLUTELY SURE that permissions are ok - is to unregister and re-register the windows installer.
At a command prompt type msiexec /unreg
and then msiexec /regserver

Hope this solves it....

Look at the setup log file in the temp directory.

This will say that the msiexec.exe is at fault.

Look for the msiexec.exe on the c: drive and rename these instances to msiexecbac.exe.

Install the office 2000 pro.

rename the msiexecbac.exe to msiexec.exe.
