Office 2003

I have just purchase a copy of office 2003 for the office and I am having a hard time sending alot of files mainly acess files we have a block on the exchange server for know virus extension I do not need to have this feature turn on on my desktop is there a way to turn this off or turn the sercurity level down? Third party software or patch or fix?
