office 2007->2003

By wesley.chin ·
I have a user who has a laptop with office 2007 trial on it. The user had an activated full version of office 2003 installed prior to installing 2007. THe usre wants to get back to 2003. What to do? My instinct is
A. once trial expires, office reverts to 2003
B. uninstall the trial

Go with B

Take 2007 off.
Hopefully it won't hose the 2003 install. You may need the CD for some of the 2003 shared components but I doubt it.

Even easier.

Just uninstall both, so you won't have any kind of problem with shared components, etc, and then install Office 2003 again. That will work just fine.

Also you will need to install the 2007 to 2003 Converter

If the person wants to actually read anything created in 2007. The File Types are not compatible.

I installed the file converter but do not see any visible difference. How do I know if it installed correctly?

That's easy

If you can open Word Documents made on 2007 in a 2003 version it's working.

If you can not open the 2007 Documents in 2003 it's not working.
