Office 2007 deployment via GPO

By aamir711 ·
HI,
We have a network of over 60 users in house. Some users are running off2k7 and some of 2k3. We want to deploy 0ff 2k7 through gpo and at the same time automate the unistall of off2K3. I was not able to find any thing stable to implement this.

As always thank you very much for the help

Aamir

Could have the GPO call an uninstall bat file, you can uninstall programs from the command line, then after the uninstall is completed have the bat file call another bat or GPO setting to install the new software hope that helps.

Check out: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc303401.aspx

In previous versions of the ORK you could choose to uninstall our keep previous Office version. If there is a "run this before the install section" you could put in "MsiExec.Exe /x {90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9} /qn" to uninstall Office 2003 quietly. Check the uninstall string in the registry to verify your product id is the same.

Regards,
Scott
